campsa 16

The Students in Sustainability Action (SiSA) project is an initiative to promote place-based sustainability education/communication among higher education (HE) students and to promote sustainability integration in higher education more broadly. The project aims to nurture HE students’ environmental consciousness and connections to the planet for promoting positive sustainability behaviours, values and practices in their daily activities and choices.

The SiSA project enhances stude nt knowledge and capacity to take both individual and collective actions toward mitigating climate change and sustainability problems, while also empowering student advocacy for sustainability transformations on campuses and society at large. Thus, by participating in this sustainability education and communication program, students are equipped with the practical knowledge and strategies for taking sustainability and climate action (goal 13) including reduced food waste (goal 2); sustainable consumption (goal 12); sustainable water management and sanitation (goal 6); contributing to sustainable cities and communities (goal 11); and preserving life on land and below water (goals 14 and 15).
